We had a cookout a couple weeks after we brought him home and had Jake, Leslie, Laura, and Matt and Isabel over. It was a lot of fun and nice to have time with friends. We went to Jake and Leslie's this past weekend which was also a lot of fun. Mommy and Daddy time is much needed sometimes. :) We hope to have a date night with just mommy and daddy soon. Any volunteers as a babysitter would be great!

Wow a lot has happened!

So, it's so terrible that I haven't blogged in over a month! Well, our little man is here and is perfect. Other than the keeping us up all night and eating all the time...haha..just kidding.:) He is a sweetheart. I had another baby shower at work and will post a few pics from that. A week before we were due, I was making a lot of progress so we decided to induce on his due date (April 26th). I didn't want to be at work when it happened, so I thought it was best that we go ahead and make plans for him to be here. I went through a lot of the rough contractions without an epideral (they were 30 seconds apart and really painful by the time I gave in), so I got the epideral once I was almost 8 cm dialated. We progressed really quickly and were ready to push right before 4. Well....after 2 hours of pushing and discovering he was on his side, I had to have a cesearean section. Andrew Maddox Templeton arrived at 7:23 pm weighing 7 lbs 6 oz and measuring 19 3/4 inches long. He is wonderful and we are very blessed to have a new son in our lives. I can't wait for all the new adventures he will bring. Here are a few of the TONS of pics I have. I will try my hardest to keep up with this blog so family and friends can see him grow. :)

April has arrived!

Well....it's the month we've been waiting for...April 2010 and our baby will be here before you know it. I am nervous but atually more excited to meet him. It feels like there's still so much  to get done, but I know if he is born today (which, would not work out real well with Nanny Karen and Auntie JaJa's plans for the next few weeks) we have the essentials needed to take care of a newborn. :) I went to the doctor yeseterday for my 36 week appointment and he's already dropped  into my pelvis (even though my belly still looks the same in my opinion). I have a friend at work who is also pregnant and when her baby dropped, you could tell BIG TIME! So, I guess that's why I get up 4-5 times at night to go to the bathroom and I've been a bit uncomfortable down below (might be a little too much info.!) :)

We're taking a child birth class tomorrow, but I don't know if it will make us feel more prepared or more frightened of what Todd calls "D Day." We will see. It's Good Friday and my plans were to go up to school to try preparing my classroom, but that didn't happen. I'm pretty sure it's closed anyway...that's what I keep telling myself so I don't feel so bad for not going up there. :) We went to Austin for Brandi's wedding a few weeks ago (the last trip before baby is here), so I posted a couple pics. I also had some maternity pics done by my college room mate Missy, so her is the website for those:

She does a really good job so I recommend her to anyone who would like professional pics done.

Here are the latest nursery/belly/what we've been up to pictures. I hope everyone has a Happy Easter weekend!

Update

So, it's been way too long since I've updated this blog! My computer has still been a bit slow so I haven't been able to upload pics until now. A lot has happened in the last few months. Unfortunately, I was hospitalized with kidney stones! :( I was having really bad back pain and what I thought was a bladder infection that had lasted over 2 weeks and blamed it on normal pregnancy symptoms. It finally became so sharp and unbearable, we had to make a trip to the emergency room. To make a long story short, I was at Arlington Memorial Wednesday night, they found the stones through an ultra sound (after a long, drawn out deal with an extremely unfriendly nurse!), went home late Thursday, stayed home Friday and the pain came back (with throwing up) on Saturday, so back to the hospital (Baylor this time), we went. I was at the hospital until Monday afternoon. Todd was such a sweetheart and stayed with me the whole time. The poor guy had to sleep on uncomfortable pull-out "beds", and even a tiny couch one night. Tamara and a few of my sweet friends from work came to visit. I had never been hospitalized overnight (except maybe when I was really small), and it was not fun AT ALL being there for 3 nights! Luckily, the little man was doing well the whole time (they were monitoring him 24/7 at first and then finally only came in every so often), and I am now stone free! The pain continued (not quite as intense), for about a week afterward and when it was all said and done, I felt like a million bucks! Well....to look on the bright side of things, maybe I'll be that much tougher when it's time to give birth! That's what I keep telling myself. ;-) Here are some pics of the belly and one with me and my friend Laura who is also preggers. I will post some pics of the nursery (which is coming along!) on my next blog...who knows when that will be!

New York Trip/painting baby's room

Todd and I went to New York last weekend for Therese and Jesse's wedding (in the Hamptons...fancy!:) and had so much fun! Unfortunately, my camera is having issues loading pics, so I only have a few pics I can post (from my i-phone), and they aren't real clear. (*I uploaded some better pics finally!) I feel kind of bad that we didn't take full advantage of being in New York City (we didn't see a lot of the typical tourist attractions), but we've both been to NYC 4 times now, so decided to make this a lazy trip to the Big Apple. :) We spent a lot of time with Kelley Beaman (one of my besties) in Brooklyn, so that was lots of fun. She took us to this cupcake shop close to China Town called "Sugar Sweet Sunshine" and it was AMAZING (better than Sprinkles even!! ) I highly suggest making a trip there if you're in NYC anytime soon. It's fun having two good friends that live in the big city and can  guide you around and take you to non-touristy places that are just fabulous. :) We also took a tour of the NBC studios and were able to see where Saturday Night live, a football News show, and the NYC NBC Nightly News is taped. That was something we'd never done before.

As far as baby is coming along, he's moving and kicking like crazy and  now weighs over 2 lbs! We went to the doc. this Friday and got to hear his heartbeat, but unfortunately we didn't get to see him this time...BUT our next visit in Feb. will be the 3-d/4-d sonogram!! :) We are soooo excited!!! I just hit the third trimester and have had some pretty funky stuff going on (extremely swollen feet: will post pics as soon as my camera cooperates, bladder infection, and some other things you don't want to know about! HAHA!) The bladder infection thing is getting better thanks to some prego-safe antibiotics and lots of water. Well, I'll try to post more often for those of you that are reading. Until then, Happy Winter!

Back to Work!

It's been way too long since I've blogged! This was the first week Todd and I had to go back to work, and it went by pretty fast, luckily. Christmas break was perfect. We got tons of giftcards (which gives me an excuse to eat out a lot!). I finished all the Twilight books and am looking for something else that's just as good to read. Those books were incredible, and I am not ashamed to admit that I'm a bit obsessed. I have already planned on having Todd babysit on June 30th so I can be one of those obsessed people that wait in line for hours on opening night of Eclipse!

Our last doctor visit was on December 21st and Nanny Karen (Todd's mom) got to go with us. :) She was really excited to see him and to hear his little heartbeat. Everything looks good and hopefully in the next month we'll have some 3-D untrasounds to post. So exciting!

I'm officially 25 weeks along today and am gaining weight like crazy! :) My appetite is now noticibly that of a pregnant lady. When you can eat two Jack in the box tacos, eat at Texas Roadhouse 2 hours later and STILL be able to order dessert....that's a pretty healthy appetite!  HAHA! Here are the latest pics of the baby bump, some pics of his baby bedding (which we spent a fortune on...but it's well worth it...he's already spoiled!), and a few photos from Christmas. I may have to write a whole other blog so I can catch up on all that's happened! New York is next weekend, so stay tuned for that blog. :)

New Car!!

So, Todd and I got a new car this weekend!! It's a gorgeous Cadillac CTS. I am so thrilled. It's a big upgrade from my Dodge Stratus, that's for sure. I think baby T will look so much cooler in a caddy. ;-) We go back to the doctor on Monday, and as always, I'm really excited to see the little man. Yes, we've thought of names, but we don't want to settle on one name until later. I have a few in mind that I really like and there are only a couple boy names that Todd and I have actually agreed on. So...I've got some convincing to do. haha!

I have been feeling baby more and more everyday. It's usually when I'm laying down or sitting still (which during the day, I'm never sitting still!!) It feels almost like I'm having a weird muscle spasm in my tummy (sounds bad, but it's amazing). Hopefully I will get to post some better sonogram pics after Monday, but here are the latest belly pics. Todd and I want to send out Christmas cards (a little late, I know), but we keep forgetting to ask people to take a pic of us when they come over. Oh well, we will just send out cards extra late and then maybe the belly will be more impressive by then. I know it's obvious I'm pregnant now because I have strangers making comments like, "oh, so you're having a baby?" or my favorite so far was at the movie theatre when TWO different people asked me, "Would you like a pickle to go with the popcorn? I know you want one!!" HAHA! Typical craving stereotype. I only wanted pickles once and now the thought of them makes me kind of nauseated. :) Happy Holidays to all!!
